Nick Stanczyk

Capt. Nick Stanczyk got his Captains License the summer after high school, at the young age of 18. He spent the next four years getting a video/film degree from the University of Miami. He ran charters most weekends back at home, and during the summers. Nick Grew up fishing with his father Richard, who has owned Bud N’ Mary’s Marina since 1978, as well as fishing with his uncle Capt. Scott Stanczyk aboard the Catch 22. He has won numerous tournaments as an angler, and a few as a captain. His passion over the past few years has been swordfishing, because he wants to hook that monster fish. He has been very fortunate to travel many people fishing, learning from many different captains. He has caught giant black marlin in Australia, giant bluefin tuna in Nova Scotia, big blue marlin in Bermuda and St. Thomas, and many fish in the Bahamas and Mexico. Capt. Nick says there’s no place like home to fish though, just because of the consistency and the variety of fish that swim off the shores of Islamorada. He has been the guest captain on many TV shows, and was even a main character in a national television series called “Reel Rivals”, which aired on the weather channel in 2013.
