Early Bird

The EarlyBird is a 43 foot Alex Willis Custom Carolina sport fishing
boat with a wide 15 foot beam. She was constructed on the outer banks
of North Carolina, which are known for their huge “Carolina Flare”
which make them fast, dry, ocean handling, fishing vessels. The Early
Bird has an air conditioned salon which is a must in the heat of the
Florida Keys and she has a large cockpit with fighting chair for
plenty of fishing room! The EarlyBird is powered with a 660 horsepower
single turbo Cummins diesel engine. She is fast and being that she
has only one engine she is very fuel efficient making her the most
affordable 43’ air conditioned boat in Islamorada.

Ross Early grew up on the coast of South Carolina, and started fishing at a very early age aboard his father’s offshore boat “The Nauti Lee”. Ross began working at Edisto Marina on Edisto Beach, SC at the age of 10. Ross fished many Blue Marlin tournaments with his father and grandfather winning young angler on several occasions. He still fishes with his father as much as possible to this day. While the fishing off the coast of South Carolina is excellent, Ross knew he wanted to be able to reach the gulfstream waters much closer than the 55 mile run it required from his home port of Edisto Island, so he packed up and moved to The Sportfishing Capital of the World, Islamorada Florida Keys in 2005 and never looked back.

Since living in Islamorada, Ross has had gained valuable experience of mating for several of the top captains. Since becoming a captain himself, Ross has run many charter and private vessels all over the world, fishing the Carolinas, Bahamas, and several summers as a salmon and halibut charter captain in Ketchikan, SouthEast Alaska.

Broad Minded

The “Broad Minded” is a 2016 37′ Freeman VH. Capt. Nick Stanczyk wanted something that was fast with a high level of comfort and this was the perfect choice.  It’s a catamaran so it’s super stable when running, drifting, and anchored. This 37 Freeman Boatworks is powered by twin yamaha 350’s so it will get you to the fishing grounds fast! He uses all PENN tackle so you won’t ever have to worry about the quality of gear used. Capt. Nick doesn’t like to be crowded so he keeps his trips to 4 people or less. The speed and fishability of the 37′ Freeman added so much to the sword fishing game it was the next step to catch more fish. There is a small head (toilet) inside the console to keep the ladies happy too. For seating there is one co captains chair, a couple portable bean bag chairs, and two people easily can sit on the coffin box in front of the the console. Being a center console there isn’t a chair in the boat for heavy tackle fishing, so either stand up tackle or fighting the fish out of the gunnel are the options. If you want to experience a great fishing trip off Islamorada book a trip on the “Broad Minded”. You’ll notice the boat walking down the dock since it’s wrapped in a Pelagic Americamo design. A standard full day is $1700 and a swordfish trip is $2400. (A swordfish trip averages 10 hours.)

B n’ M

The B n’ M is a 34′ Crusader docked out of Bud N’ Mary’s Marina. She has twin Yanmar diesel’s and has a very large cockpit for fighting fish. It’s a great day boat with a roll up eisenglass enclosure. The diesel motors run very clean so you don’t have to worry about the exhaust fumes. The boat has a “tuna tower” which helps out tremendously when sight fishing.

Captain Charlie Scoble is a true Key’s native and his fished these waters his entire life! Charlie has traveled all over the world fishing but makes his home right here in Islamorada. He owned and operated the “How ’bout it” charter boat in the early 2000’s and won almost every sailfish tournament down here, as well as some dolphin tournaments. The Bn’M is a great boat for up to 4 people, with bench seats on each side of the helm. The canvas top provides plenty of shade from the sun too!  The boat also has a small bathroom downstairs which usually keeps the ladies happy. Charlie is very patient and loves teaching people how to fish.  Whether you’re a serious fisherman or a first time family fisher person, he will show you a great day on the water!

Daytime swordfish trips are $2000 and the Bn’M was one of the pioneering boats to discover the daytime broadbill swordfishery off the coast of the United States

Thats Right

Newly built in 2005 “That’s Right” is a 50′ Evans and a USCG Inspected vessel which can carry up to 22 passengers.

This boat has a 25 knot cruise, which allows timely arrivals to the fishing grounds. The cockpit alone is 23′ by 17.6′ with three fighting chairs and my favorite – an inside head.

The transom holds an 80 gallon live well and an enormous fish box. The boat will hold around 800lbs of ice so your catch stays nice and cold.

Inside sleeps eight comfortably along with plenty of seating; fully Air Conditioned and a second bathroom for the Ladies.

The Bridge holds full electronics and a great Skipper! That’s Right is both a Florida Keys and Ocean City MD Charter Boat that can accommodate groups from 1-22 people.

Great for Weddings and Bachelor Parties, fishing for tuna year round (only Sport Fish Boat north of Marathon, FL licensed for more than 6 people).

That’s Right starts at $1300 for up to 6 people. Each additional person after 6 people is $100 per person for a full day charter, and $75 per person after 6 people for a 1/2 day charter.
