His fishing career has taken him from the north east US to Florida, Bahamas, Caribbean and central and South America, with the last 15 years spent in Islamorada fl. Passionate about sight fishing, Capt. Chris enjoys assisting anglers with catching tarpon, bonefish, permit, redfish, snook and other species that swim in the beautiful waters of the Florida keys! Capt Chris operates a brand new 18′ Hells Bay “Marquesa” flats boat.’ I welcome anglers of all skill levels from beginners to seasoned professionals. I looked at most of the websites prior to booking wirh Capt Rick. TOPSHELF; I got there plenty early and had breakfast at their store. Great call, biscuits and gravy large portion and very good!
It was still 30 minutes before our scheduled time to leave so I asked around the bait shop if Ricky was there yet. I was told that he had left to go get bait, usually this is done on the way to the fishing grounds taking up your fish time. I was aready pleased when Capt Ricky showed up and was ready to leave. His boat was outfitted with the latest in gear and electrionics. I really liked his trolling motor, it was tied to the GPS so when we got to site the motor kept us in perfect position for the bait to drift over the reef. I caught too many fish! Grouper types, snapper types LOTS of great eats!
Capt Ricky is a very good Skipper, he knows the waters and follows the tides very well. I am already planning next years trip and plan to book with Capt Rick @ Bud & Mary's.....

Great experience Mike & Matthew were great. Couldn’t ask for a better trip. Running out on a 42’ freeman was nothing but the best. We caught tons of fish and will be back again.

We just got back from a day on the Miss Islamorada, it was a blast!!! The captain and mate were awesome! They went out of their way to make sure we were all having a great time. Being the only woman on the boat I was a little worried but they made me feel so comfortable they even helped me get the biggest fish on the boat!!! I can't wait to go back. I just wanted to add I wasn't at the back of the boat and still caught the biggest fish!!!
